What to Wear Spring 2012
The issue of what to wear is an ongoing question asked by people everywhere across the world. Every season sees a mad dash of fashion designers creating something new and exciting and retailers trying to keep up. Most people follow fashion trends to different extents. Some people look like they stepped off the runway and some people like to take a few trendy ideas and add them to their current wardrobes. Whatever your preference, here are a few of the latest trends to look forward to.
Spring 2012 is all about new and refreshing. Lines are less structured than last year. For example, while the 50’s and 60’s are a prominent theme, the big focus is on rounded shoulders instead of squared and particularly so on jackets. Another popular trend is the pleated look, specifically pleated skirts with an accordion affect or delicate plisse. This spring is also about being feminine. Lots of lace and floral patterns were seen on catwalks this time. Another popular trend will be drop waist dresses inspired by the 20’s jazz era. One-shoulder gowns and embroidered, long, sheer gowns will be a major trend in evening wear.
Popular colors this season will be shades of sherbet and contrasting black and white together. Blue prints alone or with black are also going to be another popular color trend, as well. When it comes to shoes, an unusual trend was spotted on catwalks everywhere - clear shoes. These shoes are made of transparent vinyl and either big sections of the shoe are clear or just portions of it. But they are a huge trend for 2012.
The best thing about this season’s trends is the variety of choices to suit different tastes from the subtle to the most daring.
