What Makes Designer Clothes So Expensive
Why are designer labels so enticing? It is hard to say but there is no doubt that they do have a special allure to them and a part of that could be their price tag. There is also the fact that most of our favorite celebrities dress in designer, and it’s hard not to be impressed by their rich and famous lifestyles! Many people save and save just to be able to wear designer labels. But at the end of the day, one must wonder what makes them so expensive.
It seems that quality plays a big role. To a great extent, designer labels do use higher quality materials and stronger stitching, which in theory should make your purchase last longer. But, still, it is hard to imagine that better material and better stitching would justify such steep prices. It is definitely one of the major reasons, though.
It seems that another reason why designer is so expensive is to sort of create the illusion of an “elite” group of people. This makes that small group of people feel like they stand out because they can afford to buy such expensive items. People want to feel like they are special and unique. Add to that the feeling of being of a higher social status and you can see why designer labels are so successful at being expensive. People enjoy feeling the “privilege” of wearing something designer and the knowledge that not just anybody can.
When designer labels create pricey items they are also offering people the opportunity to look different and stand out from the crowd. That is because very few people will be dressed in the same expensive piece of clothing. This is particularly appealing to people who are willing to pay for their individuality, which is why, again, designer labels can get away with being so expensive.
So it seems that the fact that there is such a high demand for designer, as per the reasons mentioned above, there will always be a reasonable demand and supply for designer clothing.
